[Effective May 1 – June 1] Alexandria VRE Station Improvement Detours & Delays

King St. near the King Street-Old Town Metro Station will be closed to all traffic during three construction weekends (May 1-June 1) for Virginia Railway Express (VRE) improvements to the Alexandria station. Work hours are 7:00 AM–11:00 PM on:

  • Friday, May 1 at 7:00 PM - Monday, May 4 at 10:00 PM
  • Friday, May 15 at 7:00 PM - Monday, May 18 at 10:00 PM
  • Friday, May 29 at 7:00 PM - Monday, June 1 at 10:00 PM

During construction, DASH stops at King St & Sunset Dr. will move to approx. 2035 King St., affecting Lines 31 and 102 (both directions) and Line 30 (eastbound). Delays are expected.

Construction zones sites will be clearly marked. For your safety, please stay clear of work areas and follow all posted signs & detour info.
